Hi. How do you do? I’m Alex. I love stories in any way, shape or form, but nothing beats storytelling with a camera. That’s why I want to write about a magical land: one where dreams come true, everybody’s life has a narrative structure, people burst into song and have their actions set to music. The land of MOVIES!!! And in doing this, I want to create a little community here in the real world and see how we all interpret the magic of the camera.

I wanted to start this blog with a little introduction to me, so here goes!

Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Favourite giant movie franchise: Harry Potter (if you hadn’t guessed from the inclusion of Hogwarts House), but I can’t ignore how amazing the Lord of the Rings movies are.
Favourite Disney movie: It’s a tie between Tangled and The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Favourite movie to watch when ill: Saving Mr Banks (seriously underrated!)
Favourite Movie-Musical: Chicago! One of the few that (I think) is superior to its stage show.
Favourite Golden-Age-of-Hollywood movie: I enjoy Some Like it Hot the most, but in terms of being technically well-made, my favourite is Psycho.
Favourite Foreign-Language Film: There are so many foreign films out there that limiting it to one is impossible! My two favourites so far are Les Chansons D’Amour (Love Songs) and Todo Sobre Mi Madre (All About My Mother).

So that’s a little about me, but I’m writing this to get to know other people. To talk about different interpretations of film and television; to discuss and highlight the incredible work of others and to just have fun!
